Cytometry Services
This purpose built facility provides researchers in Melbourne with a world-class flow cytometry resource, equipped with the latest in high-end instrumentation.
Three bench-top analysers are available for DIY use by licensed users to complement the expert fluorescence activated cell sorting service on offer in the Picchi Brothers Foundation Cell Sorting Facility.

Bookings
An online booking system is used for all the instruments in the facility. You are required to be a registered user to access the system. Please contact the facility manager to facilitate your registration.
For sort bookings please contact the facility manager via email: kfield@unimelb.edu.au.
Please note that the FACSCalibur in the Doherty Laboratory is available for emergency use by departmental users, subject to availability. Please contact the lab directly on 8344 3383.
Please note:
- Sort bookings cancelled with less than 24 hrs notice will be charged for the whole time booked.
- Sort bookings cancelled with less than 48 hrs notice, but greater than 24 hrs, will be charged for 1 hour.
- All cells for sorting must be sieved through mesh, preferably 40 µm, prior to sorting.
- Charging starts from the time booked, so it is in your interest to arrive on time.
