Cytometry Services

This purpose built facility provides researchers in Melbourne with a world-class flow cytometry resource, equipped with the latest in high-end instrumentation.

Five bench-top analysers are available for DIY use by licensed users to complement the expert fluorescence activated cell sorting service on offer in the Picchi Brothers Foundation Cell Sorting Facility.

Bookings

An online booking system is used for all the instruments in the facility. You are required to be a registered user to access the system. Please contact the facility manager to facilitate your registration.

If you are a registered user you can book an analyser through the make a booking link. All sort bookings need to be made via the email address below.

Use this email to:

make sort bookings
report any instrument problems or scheduling issues
make requests for data recovery

Note: messages going to this email address are regularly checked by all facility staff. It is better to use this email for bookings than to email individual staff within the facility.

Please note:

Sort bookings cancelled with less than 24 hrs notice will be charged for the whole time booked.
Sort bookings cancelled with less than 48 hrs notice, but greater than 24 hrs, will be charged for 1 hour.
All cells for sorting must be sieved through mesh, preferably 40 µm, prior to sorting.
Charging starts from the time booked, so it is in your interest to arrive on time.

Other Cytometry Facilities in the Melbourne Research Community

Instumentation for Flow Cytometry is a significant capital investment and as members of the broader medical research community here in Melbourne, we want to see such facilities fully utilised. If the Immunoid Flow Cytometry is fully booked for the time of planned use, the following facilities are available for use by our staff and students. In each case, you should contact the contact person of the facility to arrange this.
