IgV Events

IgV Annual Meeting

These informal meetings provide a terrific opportunity for students to mingle with other immunologists and discuss their work in a congenial atmosphere, as well as obtaining experience in oral presentation.

Participants are welcome to submit an abstract and are scheduled for a short talk. The IgV Committee also uses this venue to award student bursaries and prizes.

This year the 15th IgV Annual Meeting 2008 will be held at the Yarra Valley Conference Centre on 12th -14th October.

This lovely venue nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and surrounded by vineyards provides a wonderful location for the conference. The Centre is located at 2164 Melba Hwy, Dixons Creek via Yarra Glen, Victoria.

IgV Winter Seminars

This event sponsored by IgV and Miltenyi Biotech was launched in 2007 with Prof Chris Goodnow from the John Curtain School of Medical Research as the inaugural speaker. As well as the seminar, associated events provide opportunities for scientists including students to meet with the speaker.

This year the IgV Miltenyi Winter Seminar speaker will be Prof Michael Good, Director of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research.

More information about this event will be posted shortly.

IgV Workshops

IgV is known for its highly successful Techniques Workshops held in the middle of the year. These are a great way for students, postdocs and supervisors alike to stay abreast of cutting edge technologies, see examples of their application and be made aware of useful tips and tricks.

This year we are breaking from tradition to offer an Immunology Masterclass. This will be held on 22nd July 2008 in the Woodruff Theatre in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Melbourne and offers a range of exciting topics from stem cells through to HIV infection.
